Lace Up Your Sneakers for the Alexandria Turkey Trot

  |     |   Uncategorized

When the Alexandria Turkey Trot made its debut in 1975, it attracted a mere 244 runners. Last year, it had more than 6,000 despite its virtual format. With the race switching back to in-person this year, the organizers expect an even better turnout as runners embrace the return to their annual Turkey Day traditions. Register now to be among them!
When you do, you’ll be set up to receive a Turkey Trot t-shirt and a bib—the latter has a chip that will track your time from the starting line to the finish line. That being said, don’t feel any pressure to walk the entire course. Walkers are welcome, too. Take as much time as you need to wind your way along the course, enjoying beautiful views of Alexandria along the way. But before you do, make a quick pit stop at the GW Middle School Gym. That’s where volunteers will be accepting non-perishable food items for ALIVE, an organization that ensures no local families’ tables are empty—especially on Thanksgiving. Head to the starting line by 9 a.m. to trot along with the other runners on November 25th.
