Eastwood Farm & Winery. Mountain Cove Vineyards. Jolene Family Winery. What do all of these small businesses have in common—other than crafting great vino? They all operate within the bountiful boundaries of the state of Virginia. Along with more than a dozen other Virginia wineries, they’re bringing their locally cultivated libations to the Spring Wine Festival and Sunset Tour at Mount Vernon this month.

On May 13th, 14th, and 15th from 6 to 9 p.m., the historic mansion and its lavishly landscaped grounds will welcome the state’s top wineries and a crowd to enjoy the vino they produce. Bring along a picnic blanket or a lawn chair and post up on the east lawn of Mount Vernon with a group of friends to enjoy unlimited tastings from the many vendors. The powerful Potomac River will set a soft soundtrack as you swish and sip. Feel free to explore the mansion throughout the evening—its first floor and cellar will both be open—and you can grab concessions nearby at the Mount Vernon Inn. If you prefer the VIP experience, reserve a table for 12 that includes wait service, three bottles of wine, and a few small plates.
